Bordy vs Flighty,
App in the Air
and the rest.

Bordy is a free live flight tracker and digital boarding pass for iPhone. This page is an honest comparison against the other flight tracker apps people actually consider, including the places where they are still better than us. Prices are the publicly listed ones as of August 2026 — check the store before you decide, they move.

The short version

Pick Bordy if you want unlimited flights and unlimited history without paying, a boarding-pass style card you can read at a glance, and a map of everywhere you have ever flown. Pick Flighty if you want Live Activities on the Lock Screen and delay prediction, and you do not mind paying for them. Use Flightradar24 if you want to watch other people's aeroplanes rather than track your own. App in the Air shut down in October 2024 and is no longer an option.

If you are comparing with Flighty

Flighty is the best-known flight tracker on iOS and it deserves the reputation. It has Live Activities, delay prediction, an Apple Watch app and years of polish. If those matter to you, buy Flighty — this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

Two real differences run the other way. First, the free plans are not comparable: Flighty's free tier limits your flight history, while Bordy's free plan is unlimited — every flight, all of it, forever, with gate and delay notifications included. Second, price: €44.99 a year against $59.99. Lifetime is a wash at €300 versus $299.

Third, and it only matters to some people: Bordy's interface is in five languages, and every flight is drawn as a boarding pass rather than a list row, which is either the thing you want or completely irrelevant to you.

If you are coming from App in the Air

App in the Air removed itself from the app stores in September 2024 and shut down on 19 October 2024. If you exported your flight history before the deadline, you have a file; if you did not, that history is gone from the service.

Bordy has no App in the Air importer. What it does have is manual entry that accepts past flights, so you can rebuild your log by flight number and date and watch the map fill back in. It is slower than an import and faster than you would think — Bordy resolves the route, the aircraft and the distance from the number alone.

If you already use Flightradar24

Different job. Flightradar24 is a live map of every aeroplane in the sky, which is wonderful and has almost nothing to do with the flight you are booked on. It does not keep your boarding pass, it does not tell you your gate, and it does not build a history of where you have been. Plenty of people run both.

If you are relying on the airline's own app

It knows about its own flights and nothing else, it forgets them once you land, and it is built to sell you a hotel. If you fly one airline exclusively it is fine. The moment you have a connection on a second carrier, or you want to know when your mother's flight lands, it stops being enough.
